VINCENZO CASTELLANA

2D Animator & Rigger – Toon Boom Ambassador 2024

Born in 1988 in Sicily.

He completed his studies at the “Scuola Del Fumetto” in Palermo, where he’s currently working as 2D cut-out animation and rigging teacher.

In 2014 he arrived in Belgium, where he has collaborated with various studios as Dreamwall, Waooh, Enclume and participated at the creation of several 2D animated series such as: Monster Loving Maniacs, Abraca, Kid Lucky, Little Furry, etc. His academic background and previous work experiences have allowed him to develop a profound understanding of character construction and cut-out animation processes, along with extensive knowledge of “Toon Boom Harmony”.

In 2021 he founded his own creative studio “Baumassive Lab” with whom he realized as Art Director his first 2D animated video-clip “Hybrid ”, maintrack of the last “Swingrowers” album, produced by the “Freshly Squeezed Music” in London. Until today, the clip has garnered several awards in the “Best Music Video” category within the independent film festival circuit.

In 2023, he took part as Lead Rigger at the realization of his first 2D animated film “Mary Anning” directed by “Marcel Barelli”.

Since 2020, motivated by his passion for animation and the Japanese culture, he dedicated his free time to the creation and development of “Kina the water’s daughter”, his own project thought to become a TV series.
